 Sharing the Gospel

  • Always be prepared.
    • 1 Pet 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ,,,
  • Some sow, some plant, God gives the growth.
    • 1 Cor 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
    • John 4:37 Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
  • Speak graciously, seasoned with salt. 
    • Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

 Evangelistic Scriptures

  • All have sinned.

  • Eternal Life.

The Good News

This is what you gain - the instant you truly believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and choose to follow him. (trust him like a person jumping out of an airplane trusts a parachute).

  • Eternal Life. 
    • John 5:11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
  • Are Born Again. 
    • John 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
  • Are a New Creation.
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
  • Are forgiven all Sins.
    • Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.
  • Become a child of God. 
    • John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
  • Receive the Holy Spirit.
    • Acts 2:38: Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
  • Become a temple of the Holy Spirit. 
    • 1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
  • Are sealed with the Holy Spirit. 
    • Eph 1:13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
  • Become a part of the Body of Christ.

  • Become a Royal Priest.

  • Become connected to the Vine.

  • Are God’s Workmanship.

  • Are Free.

  • Are seated in the Heavenly Realm.

    Living the Christian Life

    • Jesus Commandments.
      • Matthew 22: 36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
    • Love and Obey God 
      • John 14:15 If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
    • Deny your selfish desires.
      • Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
    • Strength from God.
      • Phil 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
    • God’s Will
      • Rom 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
    • Eyes fixed on Jesus. 
      • Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
    • Fruit of the Spirit.
      • Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

    What the Bible says about the Bible.

    • God Breathed – teaching, reproofing, correcting, and training.
      • 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
    • Men spoke from God.
      • 2 Peter 1:21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
    • Word of God is living and active.
      • Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
